Leading the Otters with experience, enthusiasm, and a passion for developing every swimmer.

Nathan Scudder

Head Coach / Otter Pups Lead

🏊 Coach Nathan

Nathan is a lifelong Otter who swam with the team from age 5 through 18 and is now entering his 4th season as an OCST coach. He also competed on his high school swim team and brings years of experience and team spirit to the pool deck.

Nathan recently completed his sophomore year at NC State University, where he is studying Mechanical Engineering.

When he’s not coaching, Nathan enjoys staying active through sports, traveling, snowboarding, fishing, and movie nights.

Samson Aymes

Senior Coach / Assistant Otter Pups Coach

🏊 Coach Samson

Samson has been part of the Otter family since 2014 and is now entering his 3rd season as a coach.

A dedicated swimmer, he has also competed on his high school swim team for the past two years.

Samson loves helping swimmers improve their skills while making practices fun and engaging.

Adam Mitchell

Senior Coach

🏊 Coach Adam

Adam has been an Otter since 2013 and joined the coaching staff in 2024. Since 2021, he has competed in both swimming and running and will be taking on his first Ironman 70.3 this fall!

Adam is graduating high school this spring and plans to attend UNC in the fall, where he will study Public Health.

Outside of the pool, Adam enjoys video games, board games, and camping adventures.

Bringing energy, encouragement, and a love of swimming to every practice and meet.

Dylan Adley

Assistant Coach

🏊 Coach Dylan

Dylan joined the Otters at just 4 years old and has been making waves ever since!

His accomplishments include winning the 2021 Otter Cup and holding the team’s 6 & Under Pool Record and Team Freestyle Record.

Dylan enjoys sharing his love of swimming and helping younger swimmers build confidence in the water.

Riley Cologgi

Assistant Coach

🏊 Coach Riley

Riley joined the Otters in 2016 and has been a standout swimmer ever since.

She also swam with TAC for three years and has earned the team’s High Point Award four times.

Riley is currently offering private swim lessons and enjoys helping swimmers of all ages improve their technique and confidence.

Our Junior Coaches are role models for our younger swimmers, helping support practices, build confidence, encourage teamwork, and continue the Otter tradition both in and out of the pool.

Lindsay Murray

Junior Coach

Lindsay is entering her 10th season with the Otters and was named the 2025 Otter Cup Winner.

She speaks French and enjoys helping younger swimmers learn, grow, and have fun at the pool.

Allison Robertson

Junior Coach

Allison has been an Otter for seven years and loves being part of the team.

Her favorite stroke is freestyle, and she enjoys encouraging younger swimmers both in and out of the pool.

Jiro Iwakura

Junior Coach

Jiro has been swimming with the Otters since 2019 and has competed with TAC since 2022.

He was the 2022 Otter Cup Winner and last season's 13–14 High Point Award winner.

Megan Coughenour

Junior Coach

Megan joined the Otters in 2018 and began year-round swimming in 2020.

Her favorite stroke is backstroke, and when she isn't swimming, she loves to draw and bake.

Claire Grimes

Junior Coach

Claire started swimming with the Otters at 5 years old and has continued competing ever since.

She has also competed with the TAC Titans and her high school swim team. Her favorite stroke is butterfly, and outside of swimming, Claire plays volleyball, is learning guitar, enjoys baking, sings in chorus, and loves cats.
