β±οΈ Arrival & Gathering
- Be Prepared: Please arrive 5β10 minutes early so your swimmer is ready to start on time.
- Dryland Warm-Up: Swimmers should arrive 15 minutes before practice when dryland is scheduled or expected.
- Meeting Spot: Swimmers should meet in the four-square area between the lifeguard station and the baby pool. Coaches will call each age group when it is time to begin.
β οΈ Conduct & Safety
- Listening: Swimmers are expected to be respectful, attentive, and ready to listen to coaches on deck.
- Horseplay: To ensure safety, inappropriate behavior will result in a βfirst strike,β requiring the swimmer to sit out of practice.
- Escalation: Continued issues will be reported to the Team Liaison and the swimmerβs parents.
π Attendance
- Flexibility: Swimmers are encouraged to attend as many practices as possible to build skills and confidence.
π Practice Attire & Gear
- The Essentials: Swimmers should wear a swimsuit and bring goggles, a towel, and a water bottle.
- Swim Caps: Optional but recommended for longer hair.
- Suits: Girls should wear a one-piece suit. Boys may wear trunks or jammers.
- Competition Note: Jammers are preferred for boys during meets because they reduce drag and support performance.
β Weather Policy
- Rain: Practice will continue during light rain but may pause during heavy downpours.
- Thunder & Lightning: If thunder or lightning occurs, practice will stop immediately for that age group.
- Cancellations: Decisions about later sessions will be made based on changing conditions. Please check email and the team Facebook page for updates. If you have not received a cancellation notice, practice is still on.
